EVENT REGISTRATIONS EXTENDED
UNTIL THURSDAY!

Whew! It's a busy week for Melbourne hospitality, and don't we know it! Due to our event registration deadline coinciding with Melbourne Cup weekend, we have decided to extend the Good Beer Week event registration period until midnight this Thursday, 3 November.

We have already had numerous requests for time extensions, so felt it was only fair to give everybody the opportunity to get their ideas in, or add more detail to those they have already submitted.

So, if you and your team felt like you missed the boat, now is your chance to make up for lost time.
Head here to login as a venue and get your event set up.

The streamlined registration process shouldn't take more than a few minutes to complete. You'll be guided step by step through everything we need from you.

Please note: As we have stated before, we DO NOT require every detail to be 100 percent accurate this far out.

If approved, you have until January 31 to finalise your details for the print program but we need you to submit your concept by Thursday night at the absolute latest if you want to be a part of the program.

Please note: The registration fee must be paid in full on application, or your event will not be considered.

We're looking forward to working through the submissions next week, so make sure yours is there!

NEED EVENT IDEAS?

If you're still trying to nail down that perfect event idea, or don't know where to start, here are a few tips for events that have worked well in the past, or ones we'd love to see more of.

1. Think about what your venue specialises in, whether it be a particular cuisine, cocktails, coffee, live music, or something entirely different. Is there a way to pair this with good beer, or a brewery that might fit well with your specialty?

2. Day time events are fantastic for Melbourne workers looking for something different on their lunch break, or for people who have taken time off just for Good Beer Week. Can you offer them something fun or different that they can stop in on instead of their usual sandwich spot?

3. For every beer geek, there are a whole lot more people just looking to dip their toes into the world of good beer. If you can offer a fun, educational look at an element of beer, or at learning a new skill, then put it forward for the Beer 101 stream.

4. Beer is great, but it's even better when you're having a good time. Think outside the box and combine good beer with any kind of activity you can think of: lawn bowls, opera, fashion shows and scavenger hunts have all been brilliant GBW events before. What would you love to try your hand at while enjoying a nice beer?

5. Events that are repeated from previous years may not attract enough attention against the new ones. Can you put a different spin on it, or expand the concept to appeal to more people?

If you would like to talk through your trade event idea, you are welcome to get in touch with the Good Beer Week team this week to see how you can best pitch it. But don't forget, the deadline at midnight on Thursday still applies!
