At 3 Ravens we love wood. Wood plays a BIG role in a lot of our favourite things - wild brews, barrel aged strong ales, brown spirits, barbeque and live music (to name just a few). When you combine all of these you end up with our favourite party of the year - Woods of the North!
For the fourth instalment of our Good Beer Week oak-stravaganza, we’ve partnered with three iconic and fun loving Melbourne cocktail institutions - Black Pearl, Bad Frankie and Gin Palace - and two of Australia’s most creative brewers - Moon Dog and Molly Rose - to showcase and celebrate their treasured barrel aged brews.
Each brewer has been partnered with a cocktail bar to create a beer inspired by one of the bar's signature cocktails. On the flipside, the bartenders have created a unique cocktail inspired by one of the brewer's flagship beers.
We’ve also lined up a selection of our favourite oak aged spirits (think whisky, rum, tequila, gin) to pair with barrel-aged treats from each brewer’s cellar to create a boilermaker menu not to be missed, or if you prefer your whisky paired with pickle juice (known as a pickleback) we’ve got you covered.
We’ll be deep frying pickles and serving up a selection of wood-smoked and coal-fired meat and vegetables, as well as some very special barrel aged hot sauce.
Ticket price includes a 150ml pour of all six beers, lunch, three cocktails, spirit samples, and one full pour (or two half pours) of your favourite boilermaker pairing plus some raucous live music to keep the good times (and barrels) rolling.
